About Us

Eddie At Work with his FatherEddie Goodridge - French polishing came first as a natural course; learning the skills from his father and, uncle George, who is still polishing today in his mid 70's.

After leaving the Army in 1983, Eddie re-established himself back into the trade. Because of the skills acquired in 'faking' the grain in wood with coloured polishes, he was encouraged to specialise in imitating wood and marble in paint. Already a self-taught painter in watercolours and oils, it wasn't long before trompe l'oeil and murals followed.

John Bly (Antiques Road show) on a visit to Burghley House in Stamford, remarked after seeing Eddie's work 'it was some of the finest mahogany graining he had ever seen'.

Eddie has carried out work for various leading companies including, Crown Properties, Rattee & Kett, Mowlems, Platinoff & Harris - in places such as: The Archives Department of the Natural History and British Museums, The Institute of Directors, Government Offices in Whitehall, Meridian Hotel in Piccadilly, National Westminster Bank, Burghley House (Stamford) and Keele University, plus many memorable private clients. He has also worked in Holland, Germany, Spain and France.

Eddie lives in Norfolk with his wife and family
